Magpopa

Magpopa was created for the Ubisoft Game Challenge 2013 in Montpellier. We had 2 days to design and create a game inspired by this video. Magpopa reached the 2nd place of this gamejam.

Rules summary:
The rules for creating the game were :
- NES resolution (256 x 240)
- The game must have an inventory system management
- The player has to control two different entities simultaneously.

The player controls a month's spirit guided by his lantern. The monk's vision is quite limited, so he need to use the lantern to see further and discover the level and avoid/spot the enemies. There are four different kinds of enemies, each of them defeated by a different weapon.

Experience:
It has been a difficult project, we had a lot to do in a very short time and most of us didn't sleep much. However it was one of the project I had the most fun working on.
I also had the opportunity to work as "lead" designer and level designer.
I'm pretty happy with what we achieved as a team and how we faced every challenges we met during these two days.
